Feel the Real Europe“- between 01.04.-08.04.2016 r. Foundation “Aktywni w Europie”, in cooperation with organizations from Italy, Turkey and Romania, was able to implement another youth exchange, which was a continuation of the project “Book of Freedom”.. For the place of action was chosen a small town located in Tatras mountains – Poronin.

“Feel the Real Europe” was created in collaboration with groups of young people from Turkey, Romania, Italy and Poland – students of the School of Economics in Dąbrowa Górnicza. The whole project was carried out with funding from ERASMUS + programme.

The main aim of project was to deepen participants’ knowledge of topics related to democracy, European Union and its mechanisms of action, a European awareness and European citizenship.

Participants also gained skills in journalism, jointly creating a European magazine – “Transparent Horizons”, in which were published their articles, interviews and reports.

Participants were able to explore journalism’s work among the meeting-workshop in Tygodnik Podhalanski – the local newspaper.
Young people could have learnt about the daily duties of journalists and secrets to issue a newspaper.

All activities were carried out in English, using the methods and tools based on non-formal education.

By participating in the project “Feel the Real Europe” the youth gained new knowledge, skills, became more creative and creative. Young people learnt to express their opinions in the forum, to take the initiative and become open to new challenges. During the eight-day meeting, the participants got to know their culture, local culture, but above all gained new friends and acquaintances. For many people this was the first trip abroad and first work experience in an international environment.
